We’re Alexander Spicer and Alvie Spurlock—two friends who turned late-night game chats into a cozy studio rooted in family, heart, and a pinch of delightful madness. Every game we create is an open invitation to join our extended family and escape into worlds crafted just for you.
Games are more than pixels and code; they’re a place to belong. We pour our love into every adventure so you can feel like you can belong. Here, friendship always comes before microtransactions and whimsy is included.
Alvie spent childhood afternoons wandering empty hallways until heroes like Sora and Riku appeared on screen, offering friendship when real life couldn’t. A nine-year-old PlayStation 2 became his portal to comfort and adventure, sparking a dream to build worlds that welcome everyone.
His wife affectionately called him her “Mad Hatter” for his eccentric ideas and boundless creativity. When it came time to name our studio, Alvie knew there was no better tribute than carrying her loving nickname forward. Today, Mad Tea Party Development stands as a celebration of that bond and a gift to their children—every game a new story they can explore together.
Alex’s passion ignited in the frosty corridors of Majora’s Mask’s Ice Dungeon, where intricate design and mystery hooked him instantly. A high school class in RPG Maker 2000 led to nights of teaching himself Ruby and crafting his first playable game. He later mastered JavaScript in RPG Maker MV/MZ before diving into Unreal Engine 5 to build richer mechanics and multiplayer systems. Now, as a graduate of Full Sail University, Alex blends technical finesse with boundless imagination in every project.
